    قامت دائرة الأراضي الإسرائيلية بتاريخ 4/12/2007 بطرح مناقصة لبناء 307 وحدات سكنية في مستوطنة جبل أبو غنيم ”هارحوماه“ التي تقع في القدس الشرقية، وبتاريخ 9/12/2007 رصدت مؤسسة الأقصى نحو 6 مواقع تتم فيها الحفريات، تقع ثلاث حفريات منها في مدخل قرية سلوان جنوبي المسجد الأقصى وأخرى في أقصى غرب ساحة البراق وبعضها داخل البلدة القديمة، وقد قامت سلطة الآثار الإسرائيلية في الفترة الأخيرة، وبشكل غير مسبوق بتنظيم جولات ميدانية وإعلامية تدعي فيها أن الحفريات الأثرية كشفت عن آثار يهودية تعود إلى فترة ما يسمي الهيكل الأول والثاني في تزوير للحقائق الأثرية والتاريخية وتجاهلا للآثار العربية والإسلامية التاريخية في هذه المواقع.
